How Chef Julian Hagood Built a (Stylish) Neighborhood Oasis in Seattle

December 18, 2024

With Harry’s Good Times Company, Chef Julian Hagood has created a neighborhood oasis in Seattle’s Capitol Hill. Through Harry’s Fine Foods, Harry’s Beach House, and Harry’s Guest House, Julian blends a passion for Pacific Northwest ingredients with a deep respect for hospitality—crafting spaces that feel both comforting and elevated.

For Julian, food is inseparable from the region it comes from. “The halibut dish… virtually everything in there, minus the oils, is from Washington,” he explains. His menus highlight the bounty of the Pacific Northwest, from local seafood to heritage grains, while honoring sustainability.

Beyond the food, Julian’s spaces are defined by their welcoming charm and meticulous attention to detail. Whether it’s the beloved roasted chicken dish inspired by a date with his husband Jake or the design of Harry’s Guest House, where every light switch and shade is thoughtfully considered, the vision clear: “We like to say it is the comforts of home with the luxuries of a hotel.”
