Brooke Bass is a food and culture writer and photographer as well as the creator of Chocolate + Marrow. Her work has been featured in Sunset Magazine, Portland Monthly Magazine, and The Portland Outsider and her blog was recently named a finalist in the Saveur Blog Awards. Though she is currently based in Portland, Oregon, Brooke was born and raised in New Orleans, which is where she first learned to appreciate the importance of a good cast iron skillet and that no celebration is complete without copious amounts of well-crafted food.
